(More customer reviews)This guidebook is a good place for an out-of-towner to see some of the highlights of Broward County. We have frequented Greater Ft Lauderdale 5 or 6 times a year for the past 3-4 years and have found a lot of the spots the authors pick as good choices for families, couples and singles. They offer a good overall perspective on the area. We particularly thought the review of the real estate market was spot on. Of course there are some true favorites for us that are not listed, and some choices the authors pick that we are not impressed with... but that I think is the norm for any guidebook.
We bought the ebook Kindle version of this book - a little difficult to navigate, but gets the job done. The one "misleading" feature of the book is that the cover gives the impression that it would contain more content for gay travelers (The cover picture is of the entrance to Sebastian Beach - THE gay epicenter of the beach scene in Ft.Lauderdale - and there is a rainbow banner on the right hand side). The coverage of gay culture and sites is almost non-existent. If you are looking for a more gay-centric guidebook - consider an alternative.
