The book includes money saving tips and discusses topics such as cloth diapers vs. disposable diapers. Holtzman does a great job staying objective - presenting readers with facts and information, but letting them decide which option is best for their family.
As with the first edition, I love that Holtzman says she wants to share her advice, but she certainly does not want to overwhelm the readers. I am the type to get easily paranoid, but I always try to remember that I don't (and probably can't without becoming a nervous wreck) have to follow every rule or guideline.
This book would be a great resource for all parents, grandparents, and even baby-sitters or child-care providers. Holtzman covers topics you wouldn't even think twice about, such as possible contaminants in water and what type of furniture and flooring is best for a nursery. I particularly like the section on creating your own household cleaning products (less harmful and inexpensive!).
