(More customer reviews)I did a lot of shopping around for a new entertainment center. I didn't want one of those old influenced pieces my entire family loves. I went looking for something simple in design, yet still looks nice and sturdy.
I went to Ikea, and 2 other furniture stores in which I found plenty of great entertainment centers fitting my tastes, but when it came down to price, Amazon offered this set which was to my liking, to my wallets liking and to the liking of my living room measurements.
It arrived in 7 days in two boxes, packaging was as expected from Amazon (top notch!).
It took me 4 hours to assemble this. It was terribly difficult to do so, because none of the boards are marked with numbers or letters, and because the pictures on the manual were sometimes flipped around. Also, the manual's pictures didn't do anything to help you distinguish which side was the back side and which sides were the nice finished sides. Finally, the reason I took 4 hours was because I was forced to dissemble it twice due to an error I found in the manual. The error was in instructions step 9 through 10 with piece #11. I was forced to flip the #11 piece upside down, so the screw holes were facing the other way from what the manual, but with my fix I ensured the nice finished side of the wood showed in front. I do not know if the manufacturer has found the error yet and fixed it, but just a heads up, It'll save you time and hassle if you know of this now.
The finished product looks great! I love it, the fiance loves it. My friends love it and love the price I paid. I was pleasantly surprised how sturdy the door hinges feel when i open and close the cupboards. Just careful though with the paint, it'll peel/break off in corners, ya its one of those paint on wood finishes. But, still, I personally love how much it adds to my living room. And it really does have the perfect combination of open and closed storage. In the closed storage I have placed all my DVDs, games, controls and in the open space, I placed pictures and plants. I'll upload some photos of it. I would highly recommend this piece.
