It did come with a couple of damaged parts due to mishandling by the shipper, not the manufacturer (box was clearly damaged). We called and they sent us new, undamaged parts right away. The directions were clear, and it was easy for my husband to install alone in about an hour (note: he is fairly handy). All the pieces fit together perfectly, no need for redrilling or readjustments as reviews have described for some of these assemble-it-yourself stands. The doors were perfectly aligned. The stand as assembled is heavy, so set it up in the place where you plan to keep it, but that speaks to its sturdiness and likely durability. The appearance is exactly as shown, no surprises. I especially like the opaque doors; our remote works well but you don't see (or have to dust) all the components. We are using it for a 52" diagonal TV (48" wide). We are completely satisfied with this purchase.
