(More customer reviews)I have used Frommer's guides in the past and have always found them extremely helpful. Of course there is the usual information in this Paris guide such as restaurants, lodging, shopping, museums, but there is much more. There is information to plan your trip regarding "getting around", money and costs, suggested Paris itineraries, etc. There is also a pocket size street map that I know will be helpful. We are also planning a day trip to Versailles and there is information regarding transportation, ticket purchases and several pages about the Chateau. I always trust that Frommer's guides will be a valuable purchase before visiting a destination. This guide has over 400 pages of information but is compact and can be easily carried in a large handbag or backpack.
I wanted to update this review since my trip to Paris. Yes, this guide was all that I wrote above but the book fell apart when I took out the map that was attached in the back. It split down the middle and pages started falling out. We were able to use the book but of course I was disappointed with this obvious design flaw. The street map was extremely helpful. Also, I would definitely recommend purchasing museum tickets ahead of time. There is a very long wait time in most of the lines so whenever possible purchase tickets before you leave for Paris. We visited Versailles in May and it was very crowded and had to wait in line even with the advanced ticket purchase.
